Unit Title:  Responsible Behavior and Decision Making

 

Day 1 Lesson:  Pairings and Groupings
Learning Targets:  5-3

5th -3rd “I can ask a partner(s) to participate in physical activity” “I Can understand and follow PE procedures and class rules.”

Assessment:  Team Discussion: Tell some of your teammates the good characteristics they were showing, share with whole class
Learning Plan:

Warm up:  Everyone is it tag “What are the characteristics of a good teammate?”

Group of 2: Math Tag reinforce and review making groups Review: procedure for picking partners

Groups of 3:  passing activity with 4 spots in a square, student passes then moves to empty spot (how to get equipment)(equipment rules), when is it ok to pass to someone- they are looking and ready

(3rd grade didn’t get to)Groups of four Extinction.  When team becomes extinct, they come out and tell me their team strategy, I aski did it work? How could you change it to work better?

 

Questions: What are the consequences when a classmate does not follow grouping rules? Evaluate your personal performance of following grouping rules today.
Resources: Foam balls, hula hoops, floor spot markers, jerseys

Day 2 Lesson:  Pairings and Groupings

Assessment: Line up and check: Thumbs up or thumbs down on self-evaluation: How did you do following the partner/group choosing rules today?  Can you think of someone who was  a great group member?  What kinds of things did they do to be a great group member?

Groups of 3:  passing on spots(how to get equipment)(equipment rules),

Group of 4 Extinction,
