Lesson Plans

As instructional resources I use Graham, Holt/Hale, Parker  (2013).Children Moving. McGraw-Hill and Rosengard, Baranouwski, Williston, McKenzie, Short (2008) SPARK Physical Education Program Grades k-2 School Specialty

3rd-5th grade have Physical Education 45 minutes/twice/week.  My class sizes vary from 20-25 students

Kinder-2nd grade have Physical Education 30 minutes/four times/week.  My class sizes vary from 17-26

My school is located in the Colorado mountains, typical fall morning temperatures range between 20 and 40 degrees, afternoon usually brings thunderstorms.  In the winter months snow and more snow, then in the spring temperatures are similar to fall.  Thus I teach 90% of the time indoors.

I post the question, learning target and a basic plan on the white board in the gym each day.  I find that this keeps my lesson focused.  I have also noticed that since posting the learning target and question my teaching is more purposeful.

Posting learning targets, quesitons and plan helps my teaching be more purposeful

Because the lesson plans may not include every detail of information, you are likely to have clarifying questions!  Please feel free to leave questions here in comments box, email me @ lburrows@egsd.org, or send me a tweet @lovepeme.  I would love to hear from you; you comments, questions, suggestions are all welcome feedback!
